Swimming Clinics and Training

Swim Faster™ 
Tri Faster's Swim Faster and Swim Faster Express clinics are perfect for competitive swimmers, triathletes, or anyone looking to improve their freestyle (front crawl) and to be more comfortable in open water races.  Hundreds of athletes have gotten faster by attending one of these clinics. Each clinic includes analysis of your stroke, drill instruction, and mass start practice. The full version also includes videotaping and more time for learning the drills. Upon leaving, you will have a better idea of proper freestyle technique and understand which drills to focus upon to overcome any personal freestyle technique issues.

Swim Training

Prepare for your upcoming triathlon swims like you never have before. The Tri Faster Swim Training program offers purposeful, directed swim workouts geared towards helping you achieve your swim peak for your key events. Practices will be supervised by two on-deck coaches, Lauren Jensen (who has had over 2000 triathletes learn through her Swim Faster system of coaching) and Tracy Haun (Head Swim Coach of the YMCA Barracuda Swim Team).

Summer 2012 Details:

  • Meets 20 weeks total: Wednesdays, 6:00am-7:15 am, April 18th to September 5th (NOTE: no class July 4th)
  • Meets at Greenfield (WI) High School in their beautiful, wide 8-lane pool with ample locker room and shower facilities
  • Two practice groups will be run concurrently each day - short course (sprint or olympic distance athletes and sprint swimmers), and long course (70.3 and Ironman triathletes, and distance swimmers)
  • Opportunity to follow a thought-out specific build towards Ironman Wisconsin, Racine 70.3, the Door County Tri or the Danskin Women's Triathlon (athletes with other target events will of course be accommodated)
  • Two on deck coaches will give you feedback on your swimming technique
  • Workouts will be a progression in difficulty over the weeks using a combination of sets – drills, short rest, pull sets, and distance sets
  • Each practice will have one short technique focus that will be taught after the warm-up and before the main set
  • All abilities are welcome as lanes will be divided by speed, however the minimum requirement is that you can swim a 100 (4 lengths) non stop (any speed)

Open Water Skills

The Open Water Skills clinics are a good fit for triathletes and Masters swimmers looking to improve their performance in open water swimming. Learn and practice the skills of open water starts, sighting, pacing, and drafting. These no-lane-lines clinics will help you gain the confidence and skills needed to improve your open water swim splits. Depending upon the time of year and location, these may be held in lakes or pools.
